A Guide to the MPP Curriculum (Intake 2020)

The MPP is a full-time, two-year, 120 credit-point (ECTS) program consisting of a core curriculum (focusing on policy analysis, public administration and management, and methods), an internship and an intensive policy project (practical training modules), elective courses taken from two out of four potential areas of specialization (specialization modules), and foreign language training.

The mandatory modules make up the core curriculum, while the specialization modules, the practical training modules, and a foreign language module can be chosen according to the personal interests and professional needs of each student.

During the first three semesters students complete their coursework. The fourth semester is devoted to the master thesis, accompanied by a reasearch colloquium. In each semester students should earn approximately 30 credit points.

The curriculum consists of the following modules

  • Introduction to Public Policy Module

  • Economic Policy Analysis Module

  • Comparative and International Public Policy Module

  • Public Administration and Finance Module

  • Management and Leadership Module

  • Ethics in the Public Sector Module

  • Quantitative Methods Module
