A Warm Welcome to the new Public Policy Students

The Willy Brandt School welcomes the new class of 2019 – 2021!

On October 7, more than 60 students from over 30 countries started their Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy. We are looking forward to spend the next two years with such a diverse and motivated group of new students from various backgrounds. We know our students will benefit from our unique interdisciplinary, international and practice-oriented approach as they pursue their Master of Public Policy here at the Brandt School.

At the Welcome Reception on October 14, Goran Buldioski, head of the Berlin office of the Open Society Foundations, addressed the new students with his keynote speech, speaking of his personal experience with changing sociopolitical systems. The following question and answer session with Mr. Buldioski allowed the students to learn more about the work of the Open Society Foundations and why keeping an open mind is crucial for any policy maker. After the formal welcome, the students had the chance to celebrate the start of their studies with professors and staff at the reception in the historic Anger Museum.

During the Orientation Week from October 7-11, 2019, the students had the chance to get to know each other, the Brandt School team and the MPP program. This week does not only help them settle in in Germany and get to know Erfurt, but also gives them the opportunity to bond with fellow students through workshops and informal get-togethers.

We warmly welcome our new students and look forward an amazing study experience.
