First Workshop - Project Group: Peace and Policy: Innovations in Peace Missions

Last October 30th 2018, the first workshop for the Project Group “Peace and Policy: Innovations in Peace Missions” took place at the Willy Brandt School.  In this meeting, Dr. Annika Hansen and Fabian Metze representatives of the Center for International Peace Operations / Zentrum für Internationale Friedenseinsätze (ZIF Berlin) met with the second year students: Andrew Colclough, Johana Botia, Berenice Muñoz, Kateryna Romaniuk, Urquia Martínez, Christopher Ehling and Oluwatosin Fatoyinbo currently enrolled in the are of concentration in  Conflict Studies and Management area  of the MPP, to discuss the first steps in the development of the Project Group.  The discussion was chaired by Prof. Dr. Solveig Richter.

The Peace and Policy Project Group aims to identify the fora currently involved in the production and implementation of techological Innovations in Peacekeeping missions. As well to list the most relevant technologies in this area. During the whole day workshop, the discussion centered around these topics: innovation, gaps, needs and requirements in Peacemissions, a revision of cuttting edge technologies, stages of Peacekeeping operations, technological innovations and a serie of cases where technologic innovation was involved in a Peacekeeping mission.
